Alarm: don't know, ask a dealer

Speakers: anything's possible but I'd say no, don't waste your time. You'd need to take the screen out to get at the space and there's not much depth. Stick a smaller unit in there but make sure it's smooth-sounding as they squawk like crazy in that location

Cars with the Premium Sound System have a little (6"?) woofer in the front doors (driven by an amp in the offside rear well by the aerial) that works quite well. You could locate some & retrofit them but the door sheetmetal & wiper motor mounts are different & unique and it'd be a big job

Stick with small but high-quality units in the front and cross them over at about 150 Hz. Then run a big woofer in the back

Yes, the dash speakers are a unique size but Blaupunkt allegedly do a speaker that fits, Mercedes still sell them (about £35 / pair) and Rainbow make a high-quality speaker that fits for about £90 / pair

Yes!

Obviously, the tweeters would go elsewhere - I'd suggest the roof. You might need to do some trimming away of the plastic, also maybe some trimming of the metal on the speaker. I can't remember the exact details, but on mine, I think i trimmed one corner of the speaker metal and used the other 3 to secure it in the dashboard. I'd go for the best possible components up front.

I can't help you on any speaker placement behind the B-pillar (or, where a B-pillar would be on a car that wasn't pillarless), except for the vague advice of maybe sticking them on the parcel shelf, if space is restricted in the rear panel. The last thing you want is for the speaker to be sliced in half when you wind down the rear windows.

I've gone for some Phoenix Gold Tantrums 5.25" components up front i`ve had to trim two corners to get them to sit in now the only problem i have now is to get the speaker cover to sit properly, i`ve got the same phoenix gold 5.25" coaxails in the rears. all powered by an amp in the boot, just waiting to get my sub but its put on hold because i`ve just sourced myself a full beige leather interior. but thank you all for your help, very much appreciated. :D

5.25" certainly do fit mate - I put alpines in mine. Had to grind the hole in the dash out to get them to sit right and get the grill on flush - but that's what a dremel's for :)

Now all in and you'd never tell they'd been changed !

At the risk of repeating myself (I think I said it around 6 months ago on this forum), I was chatting once to an in car stereo specialist, he emphasises you need bass at the front, as well as the rear. You also need treble at the front, its not so imporant in the rear. So you really do need to get decent speakers into the dash, otherwise it will always sound like 'its coming from the back'. Something that SlinkyJoe has probably become accustomed to, by now LOL.

to reset the remote keyfob you need to point it at one of the sensors, press the button then use the key to start the car within 30 seconds - that should synchronise everything

Well, thats what the handbook says
