Wondered If anyone can help I have a 3.0 W124 that has been stood for over four years. I have now started running it again but all the bushes are shot and so too are two springs. I am looking to Re bush, add new shocks and springs all round. I would quite like to add some sports springs as the car is fitted with a D&W kit already.

I am wondering what springs and shocks you can recommend, I have 17" Brabus Monoblock II Alloy wheels on the car. And how much could the car be lowered while still being practical.

If you're going to rebush it & fit new springs & shocks I'd fit the parts that a car with Sports Suspension would have. It's a very good compromise - a bit lower, a bit stiffer, quite a bit less body roll and no significant loss of ride comfort. I think it'd work well with the 17s. You can lower the car a bit by changing the spring pads for thinner ones

You'll need to find the VIN for a Sports Chassis-equipped car like yours to get the part numbers. You can then order the bits from any Mercedes dealer. If you're buying the whole lot I think you could negotiate a decent discount

Don't ruin it by using cheap tyres - use good quality tyres and don't be tempted to go for hard, performance tyres. Use something a bit more soft & relaxed like a Continental - it'll suit it better

Brilliant, when you say a sports chassis model are you refering to something like the E36 AMG or What, I'm not really well up on the different specs. Is there any after market sets ? and secondly mine does not have self levelling, but the back end is really low, should it be like that?
