so i've made it back with my 1997 w124 e36 amg, love the car but now its down to sorting out the few problems the car has.

the electric drivers seat works perfectly in every direction, however the passenger one doesn't really work at all!

any ideas? do they have any common faults?

thanks

adam

I am pleased that you like the car Adam,,they are nice,,your fault could be with the comfort pack under the rear seat or on the switches for the seat. I understand that the switches can give problems, a few checks with a voltmeter should tell you

Hi,
Glad your pleased with your new purchase, post a few pics of your new pride and joy.
Regarding your electric seat, my only experience is from my C43, I would intially look at your fuses, on a 202 you have 3 fuses per seat IIRC, not sure if the 124 has a rear fuse box but check there as well as on a 202 4 of the fuses are there.
Also may sound stupid but try your seats with the doors open with the keys out of the ignition as the comfort module "should" then come into circuit and put power onto the seats (FYI also the windows i believe)

hello adam, locate the fuses under the bonnet and give the seat ones a good twist from side to side (probably 25A blue ones on rhs of fuses). the other advice given above should also be followed but you will only find one fuse box, hope that helps.

I was wrong in my first post, the comfort pack only deals with the windows. I have added it the list to check when I turn on the other computer, though the info is limited on these there is some info.

the fuses might just be seperate to the main fuse box. if so they will be under small black plastic covers, just forward or to the side of the main fuse box - do have a look for these.

finally found the fuses they are next to the battery, had a fiddle with them and checked them but they both seem fine, no easy fix though so i'm assuming its either a motor or a switch?
