I did'nt know wether to put this in tech section or not, but it is what i did today so i put it here:D
My fuel gauge has been flicking once under halfway i tried cleaning connections etc, even put a new gauge in but to no avail, so i cleaned the sender unit.

first 2 pics is of the little screw on the bottom and the screwdriver i adapted to undo it.

Pics 3 4 and 5 are the bottom of the sender and the crud that came of!

Then i cleaned the centre rod and the 2 fine wires that run down the side of it with contact cleaner, and blasted the float contacts aswell.

Put it all back together then went for a test drive Bingo all is well. took me 45 minutes altogether:D
