Hi,

I'm a newbie to the forum looking for some help

I have recently bought my first MB - a W124 E320 7 seater which I love. However, I cant remove one of the headrests to lie the seats flat.

I think that there is supposed to be a button that you press at the top of the seat back, but ominously I have just an empty hole. No amount of poking around in the hole has worked.....

Any help appreciated!

Thanks,

Tom

I had a similar problem with one of these about 10 or more years ago.I seem to recall removing the seat from the car & stripping it,but I'm afraid I can't be more help than that!
I'll try to have a look at mine over the next couple of days,as it's bugging me now,but I'm sure someone will come up with the answer before then.
On the plus side, the part that you will probably require is separate to the seat chassis.

Thanks Meanie - let me know.

Is removing and sripping the seats a simple job for a novice?

Removing is easy enough, but it was a long time ago so not so sure about the stripping!
There's a man called Nick Froome who gets on here,& if he see's this he be much more use than me.
Do you have access to an endoscope? If you do,that might save you a lot of trouble.

Endoscope - what a great idea!

I have several at work, but dont suppose the patients would appreciate it if it had been down the back seat of my car before being used on them.....

Might see if I can pick up a non-medical one on ebay. Could be useful for all sorts of DIY
