    Hello again.

The cooler weather has shown that the heated rear window on my coupé doesn't work. The fuse is ok, and the switch lights up when pressed but nothing else. I'm not sure where to start looking for the contacts to the heating element as it is looks to be hidden behind one or more trim panels. Can anyone help?

It could be that it's died completely as the screen is delaminating a bit on the driver's side corner.

Also, will my car (1994 E320 coupé) have heated mirrors as standard with the rear screen or was that an extra?

    Thanks,
    Richard

The chances are it is the window that has failed,,, the only way to check is to remove the panelling from the near side C pillar to get to the connections

As Malcolm says it will be the rear window element connections tha t will have failed due to delamination. Nothing much to do but renew the window or live with it --- first of which is very costly.

Thanks I'll take a look at the weekend. At least the air-con clears it after a few minutes.

Thanks - I didn't know about the washers. Is the screen wash heated or is it the nozzle jets on the bonnet?

Will have to wait until it gets frosty to see if they work!
