W124 infra-red Keyfob stuck on emitting

The keyfob light is on regardless of if button is pushed, even if the pcb is removed from the housing, the switch button still clicks up and down.

I soldered the switch back on some time ago after dropping the fob but this change has come on suddenly and I can't think of anything that sparked it off, anyone got any suggestions?

It will not operate my doors.

Only by removing the switch and seeing if it is still on, and check for any stray solder wiskers

Fixed it!

The solder joint that held the sprung battery contact had parted, drew some solder into the joint and its back working good as new.
