Hi all,

Could I ask for some advice,

Since today my w124 starts up but the engine stops running after a few seconds, I then start it again and same happens as a loop. any idea what the issue could be?

Is it the OVP or fuel pump ready?

Fuel starvation.

check you actually have fuel ! (Stuck gauge)
check fuel being delivered?
check fuel filter.
check fuel delivery pressure.

There is fuel in the tank and if I keep my foot on the pedal giving fuel it’s fine, when the engine goes to idle it then stalls

First replace - Plugs for the right type ,, ht leads ,,distributor cap , and rotor . If it is they these have not been changed after the last trip around the galaxy . Vacuum lines for leaks .

If you have an E 220 with the M111 engine it would not have a distributor. Do you have an electronic throttle it could be the throttle plate needs cleaning?

Correct, that is the engine,

Could it be the fuel jump relay?

If it were fuel pump relay it wouldn't start at all as it couldn't build rail pressure.
Get it on diags and look at live values and check for fault codes.

Grober thats right coil packs on this lump . This is the part you were talking about that as wires that cause problems from time to time on the M111 And to rebuild this will cost a few ££ RICK.jpg
