W124 Noise by front-left wheel

I have recently started hearing a scratching/scraping noise by the front left wheel.

The problem is only noticable for the first few miles of driving, and is more noticable when turning right.

My initial thoughts were that this would be a wheel bearing, which it could be, but why does the noise disappear after a few miles of driving? Surely a wheel bearing would be a constant noise.

Your brake pads may be sticking.....when was the last time they were replaced?
