W124 Speaker Grilles

Hi, Anyone got any suggestions on how to remove the speaker grilles on the dash of a 124? I need to inspect / replace speakers. Cheers.

speaker grill removal

there should be a darker strip of plastic cover on the inside of each grill that prizes up to reveal 2 philips screws,(you will need a small stumpy screwdriver for the front ones as its rather close to the screen)

Think the ones mentioned by me were fitted to some W210 E-Classes in Ireland, so you could get a set in a scrappys

Speaker Removal Guide

Hi Mercky,

Perhaps this guide will assist: W124 Stereo Removal Process. Personally, I used the largest philips from one of those cheap spectacle/'jewel' screwdriver sets you can purchase to undo the fastening screws.
