I'm trying to source some new control arms for my 300TE-24 and finding some difference of opinions on the part numbers.

I think the car has the sportline suspension, though i'm not entirely sure how to check this for definate. I've put my VIN in to the russian site but no mention of sportline is to be found. It does however list my car as blue/black when in fact it's metallic bornite black, so that is throwing some doubt on to the sites accuracy.

I've contacted a parts supplier in Germany who is qouting a different OEM part number than the Russian site, or if the parts with different numbers woul dbe interchangeable.

So, how do i find out whether or not I have the Sportline suspension? and would you have faioth enough in the russian sites accuracy to order parts, or should i be trusting a German supplier (not MB dealer) instead?

While on the subject of W124 suspension, is it possible to get Poly Bushes for this model? not interested in chnaging the ride characteristics, so i'd be looking for the same shore rate a sthe OEM rubber bushes, but the longevity of using poly seems to make sense if they are available.

first 6 of the VIN are 124091

Hi, Just bought an 1995 E320. The ride seemed really stiff compared to my last W124 and i thought i could have the sportline suspension ? In the back of the service book is the list of factory options. (653) is a sports chassis with 8 hole alloys (as i found out mine has) but that's as far as i got ..... sportline models are noticeably lower at the back and mine is'nt by the look of things. . . . try http://www.mercedesshop.com/sportline_suspension.htm looks like there's info there for you :)

Just phone up a dealer parts department with your VIN. They'll give prices over the phone. Then ask for part numbers so you can phone back & order them

I think for the best results you should use MB parts. You could use Superflex bushes but many of the parts are arms with a bush attached. It's probably only the ARB bushes that are replaceable with aftermarket parts and at £4 each for the front ones I'd fit MB ones
