Just checked my car, and its running with 195 65 15 - isn't thing the wrong size, in terms of what the car would have originally left the factory with? They are Michelin energy savers, and I must admit, even in London traffic, I get bearable MPG, or has I've been told to call it, hours per gallon - I hope I have that right :p

What difference will running the 205s have on the car? Any difference at all?

Many thanks,

Khumos---and stick with original size -nothing to be gained from 205's unless you are going racing?

195 65 15 is original tyres for both alloy wheels and steel wheels on a w124 (unless it's a sportline model).

Mine has aftermarket 205/55/16 (NOT put on by me!!) and they stick out a tiny but more, don't really suit the car and are an extra £10-£15 for tyres. stick with 195/65/15!

THANKS, when I first began researching new tyres, most online tyre sites ask for the vehicle registration number, and accordingly advise 205 60 15 is the standard size! I am happier with 195s and no doubt, they add to the MPGs achievable on what is, essentially, a wardrobe on wheels.
