W124 Ventilation System

Hope Someone can Help.

Have just purchased a 1994 E280 W124. The ventilation system is the standard (basic) type. The tempreature of the side vents on the dashboard are controlled by Left and Right controls on the console. However, the centre vent is only blowing cold air and does not heat up. Is this the correct function or has something failed and needs replacing?

Hi Bolide,

Many thanks for your prompt response. Its good to know that there isn't a fault with the car, however, continual untreated, hot/cold, air being blown through the centre vents is different to what I am use to.
