I seem to be getting ticking sound coming from my Viscous fan on my E220 (type 111 engine) - The dealer says that the fan unit need to be replace at a cost of £260 plus labour . Can anyone tell me how to remove the viscous fan without disturbing the belt - and can it be serviced ? Thanks Bert

Taking off the belt is no big deal so long as you sketch its routing for replacement.
