Hi there.

I have a 1990 Mercedes W124 260e auto

I changed the front springs on the car a few weeks ago - we fitted Meyle 014 032 0182 (https://www.onlinecarparts.co.uk/meyle-514647.html)

I have been told by Pelican Parts and MBZ that the front should be A124 321 2104.

Pelican Parts have said there are no markings on early cars, MBZ differ.

The old springs have a red dot. Although these have no markings, is it safe to say these would be correct? don't want to fit wrong ones again.

The only definitive answer to the spring question comes from the official MB parts catalogue (EPC).

Using your VIN, several spring options will be returned. You then need to tot up the "points" for your car's options. The points totals (front and rear) will reveal the correct springs and spring pads.

This may be a good place to start:

I have never heard of Meyle springs but Meyle in general does not have a very good reputation for quality.

However, Lesjofors appears to have a better reputation. But does their part number cross-refer to the one revealed by the EPC?

Good hunting.

I got a price of 136 euro for the front each, and 75 euro each on the rear from main dealer.

Is there any benefit of going main dealer?

Mercedes said this morning, that there is no colour coding on the front but the rear is yellow/white dots
