W124 Wiper Arm

The wiper system on my W124 230E is not working. The main motor works, wipes from right to left and the arm extends but does not retract. The blades gets caught by the side of the windscreen.

I was informed to replace the wiper arm assembly and the cost of parts is rather high. Besides getting secondhand replacement, can anoyone recommend alternatives.

Lube the shaft of the wiper that makes it go up and down, or in and out. You can use Vaseline in an emergency..... Don't ask.
