Hi guys,

I have just bought an L plate W124 estate. It is an E220 with 190,000 miles on the clock in pretty good nick with an electric sunroof and 7 seats.

An English guy paid 600 quid for it in the UK, drove it here (Skiathos) and sold it to me for 500 euros.

It runs fine and am looking forward to adding it to my W202.

Anything I should be looking out for on this particular model?

There's a (fairly frightening) checklist on Honest John's website. Don't be too put off - you only find a couple of those faults on each car!

The main things to replace are front balljoints (cheap & essential) and front ARB bushes (cheap and they make a big difference). Everything else is on a car-by-car basis

Picked up the car today and noticed the front drivers electric window doesn't work. I can faintly hear the motor whirring away. Any ideas.

Cheers guys, I will be looking into that one during the week.

Next up is the fact that none of the interior lights come on except for the curtesy lights on the c pillar and the tailgate.

Any ideas?

P.S I looked at a previous post and it mentioned fiddling with the dash light/odometer re-set. Have done this but it is still light outside so I can't see it, or is more work required?
