Hi,

Can anyone help.

When I try to start the car it won´t turn the engine. I´ve charged the battery so that´s OK, and the alarm goes off although with greatly reduced decibels.

This has happened to me a couple of times before where I´ve tried to start the engine and the battery appeared flat. Then after trying a few more times I get full power and the engine starts. Could it be a loose connection somewhere?

Thanks,

Peter

Could be a dead cell in the battery with the symptoms you describe.

Most garages and battery specialists have the gear to test and confirm the problem.

Good luck

Is all your lights bright when you try to start the car, does it turn slowley,or not at all....does the starter click when trying to start it.....If there is no noise and the engine does not turn at all i would look at the starter connections....

Hi Nicky,

Yes the engine turns for about one second then dead, it sounds just like a flat battery, but when I charge the battery the amp meter on the battery charger doesn´t show much discarge in the battery.

Also although it hasn´t happened this time previously it has burst into life after a few trys. One other thing I didn´t mention, I have moved the car onto some uneven ground, and I can´t get the car out of reverse I´m not sure whether this could be related to the problem with the inhibitor connection.

Thanks for replying,

Peter

Hi R129,

Yes I suppose it is a possibility, but I feel it is something else.

Thanks for replying,
