Can anyone help with the removal of my W126 500 SEL centre console ? The bulb in the transmission selector has gone , as is a bulb in one of the temperature 'wheels' . I can't see where the wooden sections by elec windows switches or by the fan switches come out . Thanks in advance

Hi Mate.

To remove the centre console you need to do the following.

Remove the radio, pull off the heater control knobs, unscrew the nuts that are behind them, pull out the cradle that holds the radio and disconnect any plug connectors. On either side of the tunnel, near the floor are two screws which need to be removed. Take the little bit of carpet out of the console tray and undo the screws underneath. Once you have unscrewed this lot there are two screws that hold the heater part of the console to the dash, undo these and you should be able to lift the whole thing out. it's best to pull it from the rear. Hope this helps.
