I intend to replace the springs and shocks at both ends on my 1991 500SEL, which has done 133,000 miles on what appear to be original parts.
I've been quoted £767.06 (supply only) by Mercedes (including springs specifically rated for my car based on the chassis number). The shocks are standard parts however, with only one part number available.
I've also been quoted £341.92 (supply only) for factor parts that I am assured are German in origin and manufactured to original equipment standards.
Obviously the factor springs won't be specifically rated for my car.
Does anyone have any advice or opinion on which way to go with this?
At present I am tempted to go for factor shocks and Mercedes springs, which would cost £479.64.
Any thoughts would be gratefully received.
Regards
