I am replacing the stereo and need to find an ignition feed wire to tap into. Can anyone suggest which is the easiest to use and find?

Many thanks

You shouldn't need an ignition live, just an earth, accessory and constant. They should be on the back of the current set already. A good source of a constant if not may be the cig lighter.- not sure if the 126 is constant on the cig socket but its easy to test.

The stereo currently is running off the cigar lighter, but the new stereo has a revolving front that needs an ignition live to activate it when I turn the engine on. Any ideas of suitable powers sources, any of the heating wires etc??

I would use the accessory live for this. Otherwise you can't have the stereo on without the ignition being on I've never seen a stereo need the ignition circuit as it just needs to know if the key is in in order to open the front panel (accessory circuit live does this), it shouldn't care whether the engine is running or not. I would re-check the instructions as this sounds odd to me. (I used to fit ICE stuff as a student job).
If you really need the ignition, then either take from the back of the ignition barrel (scrape away some insulation and solder a wire on to the existing one) or just test to see what works when this is active - Heater fan perhaps - though do check what the current draw is likely to be - is this just a sensing wire or is it going to drive the amp?
