W140 instrument light replacement

A couple of bulbs have blown on the main instrument panel are they easy to replace, has anyone any advice as it looks difficult to get to? Thanks

The cluster really needs the hooks to pull it out, the later cars have catches under the cluster, the bulbs just twist and turn to fit

Lower the steering wheel down and out as far as it can go, remove the trim panel below or above the pedals and push the cluster out from behind, its tricky and could result in some cuts and foul language but easier than pulling from the front if you dont have the correct tools which can result in cluster damage.
