w163 M class trip computer

Hi,

I have a 2002 ML and small screen near the mirror for the trip computer has gone blank. A couple days ago it was working fine, displaying the miles per gallon and so on. I have pressed the mode button, but it still remains blank.

Does anyone why its gone blank and how to fix it?
