Hello
I recently acquired a 2003 ml, whilst working through the faults before I put it into service I notice that the wipers are parking too high, maybe 70mm above where they should be, at least I assume so as when in motion they sweep correctly and lower than where they park?
The rear wiper also seems to be oddly high. the battery had been replaced before I got it and the airbag light has illuminated as a consequence, could it be related?

I don't know specifically for your car, but this generally happens when the arm connected to to motor itself slips a little .... often due to not clearing snow & ice from the screen before switching the wipers on.

As it's parking higher than the bottom of the sweep (70mm is a lot) I'd say the motor cut-off is incorrectly adjusted but I don't know what type of position sensor is used.
I take it were not talking about them stropping short on a dry windscreen? Can't see that accounting for 7cm though.

I don't think its arm adjustment as they operate perfectly otherwise, if adjusted down they would run off the screen when in operation, very odd. A sensor would seem more likely, just unsure how to check..

There's usually a park switch on the motor. Sounds like it's not quite Inthe right place.

If they're parking in the same place every time it's unlikely to be electrical.
This is not a Merc, but changing a rotary motion to a back & forward motion isn't just a Merc thing ..... http://www.omegaowners.com/forum/index.php?topic=117001.0
This is most likely your fault.

quick update..
I removed the mechanism inc motor, couldnt find anything amiss, or where to re align.
However once re fitted i realsed that i had failed notice the intermittent setting not working!
This points to the relay, swapped it for one in the fusebox with the same part no that isnt labelled, no luck, will get another as i dont know if the one i swapped it with is functioning.
