W164 EIS problem

Hi guys. I have the usual EIS problem and I was wondering if EIS from a year younger w164 would work in mine? I have ML280 from 2006, but the EIS I found is from the 2007 model

As long as the part number is the same.

Keep in mind the EIS is married to the car, so will need re-programming via a specialist key place etc.

What are you looking for, a garage that can replace the EIS for you, or a supplier to give you a replacement EIS and code it?

Ihave already ordered 2 on ebay. Waiting for them arriving. I called the Mercedes, but they refuse to fit a used part, so looking for a garage that will get it refitted and reprogarmmed. Im in Edinburgh area.

Its quite a specialist job, a lot of specialists wont re-code items and will call in another specialist to do that for them....... You will have to ask around unfortunately.

as most will have noticed ,our next story is to find a way around these live updates/ programming. that are threatening our,the owners ability/choices with OUR cars. someone WILL overcome that and as long as makers continue to insist on confounding owners attempts at self maintenance i will support any scheme that overcomes or attempts to overcome this.
