W164 ML wing mirror cap removal

I need to get down and dirty with my wing mirror internals, but need to remove the cap first. Anyone know how to get it off ?

From what I can see it's the same as my W251 R Class ..... this is the glass removal and access to the indicator

but I'd to remove the complete mirror to get to the internals, which involved door card removal on my R Class to get to the 3 screws in the back of the triangle where the mirror meets the door. I've a spare cover in silver the same as the video sat in my garage

I seem to remember you get the glass out first, then all the next steps are obvious...
