well last sunday i think the central locking stopped working.

The alarm gets activated when the lock button is pressed but the doors dont lock.

i can only manually lock it

the only thing iv done is change the bulb on the interior light. Do you think this could have shorted it?

All other electronics work ie wing mirrors wipers windows

What could it be ... Please help

Thanks Gavan

To me it sounds like the central locking pump has gone down on it. A quick check on the star machine should be able to solve this

ummm well i disconnected it and reconnected it today a number of times and it made no difference.

i and my brother took the pump apart and that moved freely

what do u mean by coding ?

like sync it with the alarm system and car ?

thanks Gav

Some of the pumps need to be coded to the british market etc as they come in a standard state so they can be used all over the world if that makes sense.

Best thing to do is get it stuck on a star machine and it can be tested via actuations on the machine

there a few small problems with that, im a student and have no money.
Its also my Gf's car.
Her parents have paid for the insurance £1000+
her parents paid for a very big service a couple months ago £1000+
and they said that they aint paying anymore and we can just manually lock it.

Im happy to pay £30 on ebay for a used pump but just putting on the machine will be double that.

oh when we had the pump out but plugged in it made a noise when i tried to lock/open it but never did anything

what will happen if i install a new(used) one? As i think its a good idea even if it isnt that because the pump is rusty and the circuit board is mouldy and rusty

Personally i would get it stuck on a star machine and go from there as you dont want to put a pump on it and it not cure it.

What area are you in
