Greetings

I am changing the standard (non Bluetooth) radio to an Alpine head with Bluetooth. I have metered out the connection block and cant find a switched (via ignition) positive, only a constant 12v. Where is the nearest point to pick up a 12v + that is switched?

Also, my new radio has a standard ariel connector but the Merc standard radio is different – what type of connector is that on the standard radio? I need to get an adaptor.

TIA for any input

Regards

Andy

Usually the sw +ve is picked up from the ciggy lighter.
But check as newer, Canbus matched, HU's might not need it.

I haven't had to pick up that feed for the past few HU's, Chinese though.

Thanks, that's what I used, Strange , I thought the thicker brown cable would be positive but its not. Thanks again

At least you didn't tap into the 3rd wire, then it would only work with the lights on. That could be confusing.
