I have a 2006 W169 which has suffered water ingress because of a blocked cabin filter drain.
The car also suffers from a current drain problem and has done for some time. I believe that the ABS etc. problem could be caused by a faulty brake light switch (even if the brake lights work as they should, and they do), or more likely, having had the water ingress problem, the fault may be with a SAM unit, and that may account for the current drain problem too. I have an iCarsoft diagnostic unit which does show some Signal Acquisition Module related error messages.
I believe that this vehicle has two SAM units. Could someone tell me where thay are so that I may inspect them for water damage please? Is there one underneath the fuse box on the drivers side? That area does have evidence of water ingress (carpet foam backing is soaked, battery box had about an inch of water in it).
Any assistance would be much appreciated.
Best Regards
Roger
