W169 side mirror not adjusting

Hi all,

I have just purchased a 2006 A class and noticed today that the passenger door side mirror isn't adjusting. The indicator is working and the mirror folds/unfolds without any issues. The driver's side is working fine. When I select the passenger mirror adjustment button, it lights up red as it should, just nothing moves when I use the joystick. Any ideas?

I would be really appreciative of any assistance you can give me as a new Mercedes owner.

Are the wires easy to repair? Or is it a major job?

Ease of repair depends in ones ability, which we dont know.
But simply, find the offending wire connection with e continuity meter/probe. If the wire is long enough twist the broken ends and solder and put shrink wrap on.
If not long enough solder a bridging wire in.
It could just be the hot wire to the motor.
Of course you need to get to the mirror electrics which would probably be a door card off job and releasing a few connectors and the bolts holding the mirror on.
In summary everything is easy if you know how and have the tools. Probably a 2 hour job.
It could also be that the PO replaced the wing mirror with a non electric one.
