Hi guys, I stupidly ran out of fuel yesterday(on the way to the garage to fill up) and for the life of me cant start the dam thing, to the point the battery went dead or near enough....

I have ran out before (I have a dodgy fuel gauge) and it has always started relativly well previous to this occassion...

Any ideas, I presume air has got in to the system, how do I get the dam thing to work now! its in a supermarket Car park, the battery is at home now on charge for the night.... so in the morn I ideally need to get it going....:confused::confused:

I would change fuel filters, put some diesol into the new one before fitting, not forgetting to change small one, this should do the trick.

Agree with Brian, - fill the new filter right up with fresh diesel, - and make sure everything is spotlessly clean before reconnecting the hoses!

ok cheers guys, can I manage this on a car park? I presume the fuel filter is the filter at the front of the engine to the right hand side of the centre?

after trying what you guys said, it still didnt work. So I joined the RAC and they came out. The bloke said it was my fuel pump in or by the fuel tank! :S so had to towed home. Any ideas where th cheapest place to buy these are, I dont get paid until just over a weeks time and need to get it sorted ASAP, dont mind getting my hands dirty assuming its a straight foward job (he lives in hope).
