w202 dodgy steering help!

bit of help required here guys,on my 1995 w202 c200 when i turn the steering full lock it kind of knocks and scrapes even at low speeds,the steering is not centered and when i run over certain imperfections on the road the car tends to pull to the side like it is following a track.
i was wondering if anyone has any ideas

Have a look at the front wishbone bushes - particularly the rearmost one . You can do a bit of a test by getting a colleague to watch the front wheels as you move slowly forward. dab the brake on and off and look for the wheel moving noticably rearwards in the arch as you brake. The bushes wear and allow the wheel to get close to or rub the arch liner on the lock.

have a look at both front wheels, make sure they have the same distance from tyres to arches on both sides, also check your tyres pressures.

my clk was doing something similar - turned out the right wheel was rubbing against a cover underneath.
