W202 front wings removal

Hi!

On the W202, do anybody have illustrations of where to remove screws in order to remove the front wing?

I need to do some rust-work on both wings, and it is not in the Haynes guide how to remove the wings ...somehow Haynes always avoid the stuff I work with...

It is very easy, one under the wing at the front where is meets the bumper, another at the rear under the wheel arch liner and those along the top and down A pillar.

Wing removal

Hi everyone, this is my first posting--so have patience!
I am trying to remove the FNS wing of my C180, W202. I have read this thread which indicates that this is an easy task, but I cant see how to get at the screw that secures the lower part of the wing, (near the door) inside a sort of box section formed by the (plastic) sill. Do I have to remove the sill?
Ant help would be appreciated,

Hi,
Welcome to the forum.
As yours is a facelift 202 (post late 97) you have plastic sill covers/skirts and you are correct that to gain access to this bottom bolt fixing the sill cover/skirt will need to be removed, there should be a row of fixings in the floor where the sill wraps around the outer sill, as regards to the rest of the cover/skirt fixings i,m not 100% sure but i believe they are only stuck on, use a hair dryer to soften the adhesive if this is the case.

I can see the clips that fix the plastic sill to the floor, I cant really see how the clips operate, I want to avoid a 'destructive investigation', anyone know how to release these clips?

If the clips are round ones there is a plastic pin in the center that you push through, and this releases the clip

I have a bag of assorted clips that I can look through in the morning

Yes, I think the clips are round ones, I wont get another chance to look at it until the coming weekend, when, assuming the weather holds, I will have another attempt at changing the wing.
