W202 Owners Handbook

I've just bought a late 2000 (X) C220 CDI Estate. Some info in the handbook does not match the car. Eg cruise control and locking remotes are complely different. MB advise that the handbook may be from a later model W202. Is this likely since the car I have is right at the end of the model run anyway ? Can I check the date of manufacture of the car using the VIN ? Also Haynes Manuals only run to W reg. Any advice ???

can you give me the next 3 numbers after 202

Hi,

Three numbers after 202 in VIN are 193.

Yes the 202193 was the last in the 202 serries. there is the 203 that followed.

Malcolm, thanks for the date info. Very reassuring. Interestingly, even though my car was near the end of the model run, it looks like MB continued to make spec changes right to the end. My cruise control conforms to previous years. However, the W202 handbook which I have only details a much more complex type of cruise control with speed limiter and LIM light etc.

Hi Kevin, have a look around this site, just use your first 6 figures to find your car, then you could look at one or two other to find the diffences.
