Hello

This is my 2nd MB, first was in 2004 w203, C180kSE

2nd bought sept 2008, w203, C180K Atvntg SE. I've always closemy doors lighty, driving for 30+years. However, both of the front doors need to be closed a lot harder than the other cars and the merc we had. Even my wife hs noticed this and rarely se closes the door first time, especialy from the inside, same with me.

The rear doors are fine.

I've checked for accident damage, no signs.

the car had cover about 9k when we bought her.

I noted today, the paint scuffing at the top corner of the door frames and therubbers wearing.
Could this b a factory alignment issue and if es, could I easily adjust?

TIA

As it's 07 then I would assume it is still under warranty, I would make a point of taking it back and getting someone there to agree with you about the problem, Other thing you can do is try a few other cars same as yours and check the door closing on them..

Yes you can adjust the door lock strikers very simply--but on a car of that age they should not be wrong unless they have been tampered with ? assuming its still under warranty take it to the dealer --ask why ???--- and ask for them to be set properley .

You can normally tell if the door is fouling the stricker plates ..the thing on the centre pillar... just by holding the handle in the open position and opening and closing the door gently and noting any resistance or movement when it engages the striker plate...
BUT never attempt to adjust a striker plate unless you are sure that it is the offending article..
