Due to rough handling, the armrest/ centre console lid on the wife's 2005 MY W203 is both detached and damaged (not just a simple refit). I think the part number is A2036800882 (it is the one with 1 front button and 1 either side so it can open from the front or from either side). They appear to be hard to source second hand.

Can anyone advise if it is possible to replace with a simple front opening armrest (much more available). The side opening aspect is of little interest. To be clear, the car has the factory fitted UHI phone connector in the tray under the armrest so it would have to work with this.

Also, if an alternative armrest would work, is there much involved in fitting? Would it be a simple "clip in" or does the console have to be taken apart?

Thanks in advance.

Thanks, would really appreciate. Colour is black. I think the colour code is 9E23.

Tried Starpartz and Dronsfields last weekend, no joy.

Hi Malcolm,

Thanks for reply. My problem is to try and distinguish all the variations of part 80 one from another and to know which (if any) are interchangeable.

I think ours is A2036800882 but the new prices seem astronomical.

Yes I understand and know that the prices are silly,, you do have www.Euromerc or Ebay or breaker.... Any will fit including a front opening only

Thanks to all who offered help. I had another look at the existing armrest this morning and thanks to superglue, an old credit card and a craft knife, I have managed to effect at least a temporary repair. Refitted and it works perfectly (for now at least). Stern warnings issued about rough handling but will have to see how that goes. Thanks again.
