W203 bouncing door locks

Hi Malcolm,

I too have the problem of bouncing door lock pin on my W203 C Class Coupe, could you please send me details of how to dismantle door and fix it. Thanks.

Also I have a rear spring broken.
Do you happen to have details of how to tackle the job of replacing both rear springs.?

What an amazingly helpful set of instructions; all that remains is to see if I'm up to it! I don't suppose you've got equally helpful ideas about the driver's door restraint on my CLK? The mechanism inside the door seems to have disintegrated, so the door flies freely when it is opened instead of stopping in a couple of positions.

Hi, I've just come across this forum after also looking for a way to fix the problem with the door lock bouncing.

bouncing door lock

Hi Malcom,
I have just spent nearly two hours trying to excract the door lock from the door but no avail. The door lock seems to big to pass the throught the speaker hole or pass the window mech arm.

I recently suffered a similar problem with my W203 door locks bouncing - mostly in the cold. I took it to MB Tech in Warrington and they sorted it no problem. They replaced some modules and now everything is fine & dandy.

W209 same problem

Hi I have a w209 which has the same problem as mentioned above, however it's only on the nearside. Is it possible to get the dismantle and fitting instructions for the door locks with part numbers if possible.
Also I have a w203 with both sides having the bouncing door lock problems, could I have the fitting instructions for the w203 locks also.
Do you know the price of the bouncing door locks, and where the best place would be to get the new rivets to refit the door parts.
