I'm hoping someone has had a similar problem on their CDI as this.

On start up and for a few miles not too bad, then it goes flat, only revs to 3000, feels a bit like a rev limiter cutting in.I've recently done a full service so air filter, fuel etc has been changed, replaced the MAS with a new one so now a bit lost as to what to look for hoping someone has had the same thing.

Cheers John Kerr

Thanks for the reply Barry. I have fitted a new MAS is it possible it is a duff one.The thread you directed me to did seem as if the problem was the same. What happens when the MAS is disconnected. Is it possible to test the sensor with a multi meter perhaps Malcom would know.

If the MAS is out, you will get an improvement with it disconnected, but I've never heard of a problem with a new one though it is obviously possible.
When my MAS went, it took the O2 sensor with it so there are other things that can cause this problem as well as the MAS and on a CDI, there are all the turbo bits that can trigger it too. You really need to know why the ecu has gone to safe mode and the only way to find that out is to get the codes read.
