W203 c220 cdi screech HELP!!!

Hi i have a w203 c220 cdi. When first started theres a horrible screech when revved stationary or moving hot or cold but it does go after a few min but if you slow right down or stand still for a bit it comes back. Firstly thought it was turbo so i have had that refurbed but still no joy. Any help would be brilliant because its irritating the bollocks off me

Whats the condition of the serpentine belt, idlers, water pump and aircon compressor? Also does your car have a viscous coupled fan?

Not sure about belts getting them checked out tomoz and i think water pump fine as doesnt get hotter than expected. They guy i bought it off said that had all aircon compressor and related bits changed but aircon still doesnt work as needs new parts programming with star (dont know how true this is like)

If it has a viscous coupled fan that would be my first choice from the symptoms. Look for a big fan attached to the front of the engine driven from the serpentine belt.

Thank you there is a big fan at front of engine ill have it looked tomoz. Also its hunting the revs and you can feel the surge in power this is constant but varies in severity. Do you know of anycauses for this ive had maf cleaned and new airfilter new airfilter still no joy had cat and dpf removed plus egr delete and mapped to still to no prevail
