Hi All,

Having a slight problem with my water pump, noticed an unusual ticking noise. and shortly after failing to locate the fault, started to smell a slight whiff of hot coolant/antifreze. It seems to be running down the block from the water pump. I ordered one from ECP, and when I went to collect it found it was nothing like the unit fitted to my car. The pulley on the ECP unit was smooth, and the whole thing looked too big to replace the faulty unit. The pump fitted to my car has a grooved pulley. Does anyone have a part number for the correct pump or do I need to reuse the old pulley???

Thanks in advance.

I dont think I have ever seen a grooved pulley on a water pump. The reverse side of the belt usually drives the pump not the ribbed side as it is tensioned against the pump so no need for it to be grooved.

Are you sure you arent getting confused with the idler pulley that runs along side it?

Thankyou both,

Steve you are right, I am a pratt! I was looking at the pipework and only looked at the idler pulley. The ECP unit was correct.

Thanks for your help:D
