W203 C320 Stepper Motor

Guys,

One of the stepper motors (behind main centre air vent) has been clicking for a while and i'm also not getting any warm air to the footwells.

I've searched and searched but has anyone done a full pictorial write up on replacing these stepper motors?

Also, i'm not getting any warm air to footwells - how do i reset the heater? Press recirc and demister buttons simultaneously?

There are two motors that can go on them.

Connection to a decent diag machine will point to the right one.

The worst case senario is 11 hours labour to remove the dash and heater box.

After searching quite a few threads it seems that the most common is the one under the main air vent on the top of the dash accessible with the radio removed. Has anyone DIY'd this?

Also, pressed the recirc and defrost button for system to re-learn heater flaps but mine never ever finishes the cycle. The LED's are supposed to stop flashing when relearn is complete but mine is still going after 10 minutes Any ideas?

There is actually 7 stepper motors!! As black says, depending on what one has failed depends on wether it's an easy hour job, or dash-out scary big job.

candellara , did you get anywhere with this?? I have exactly the same issue as yours on a 2001 C320 and no air on the feet area.

I have another post where a user mentioned £900 to do the job on his car.
