Manual c200 cdi w203 2005 saloon
Hello everybody,
I hope someone can point me in the right direction. The car is a 2005 200 cdi. Today the check engine light came on and car was in limp mode. After reading the codes with the icarsoft v2.0, this code came up and the car drove fine when the code was eraset.
Can somebody tell me where I can read the values of this sensor using the icarsoft device? I have attached a picture of the said code
Thanks in advance

Isn't there a page that allows for sensor values to be read?

Yes there is but I didn't find that specific sensor listed anywhere. I'll just see if that code will reoccur.

A TWC on a Diesel?
That pic shows the code as historic so regardless of description shouldn't be putting the MIL on our causing any reaction.

Yes, the diesels have a catalyst too!

With a temperature sensor fault, it’s likely that your car is a rare one, with a DPF on a 2005 car. There aren’t many. There are two exhaust temperature sensors on these if my memory serves. One of them has gone down. Be careful to check which it is, but replacement is fairly straightforward

They don't have a Three Way catalyst! They have a Diesel Oxidation Catalyst.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but I thought the DOC catalyst was fitted to diesels without DPF, but they moved to three way with euro 5 and DPF fitment. The presence of EGT sensors suggests this is a euro 5 equipped vehicle. Like I say, I’m no expert

Thanks everybody for your feedbacks!
Yes but I don't know if I should feel lucky or unlucky being one of the few to have dpf fitted in the car since it has given me nothing but trouble. Nonetheless I'll have another look to see if I can the mentioned sensior and just unplug the connectors to the 2 sensor till the values change to see which one it is.

I'd reaally be surprised if it was a euro 5 since none of the w203 was euro5 I think.

Do a VIN decode.
Here's one of my earlier cars, '983' shows it as Euro 4, '474' is the DPF.

I was glad to get rid of hat one.

If you are referring to the fault code then yes it is 2649-8, can also be seen on the picture I attached.

Just did that and it comes up as euro 4 and also fitted with a dpf.
Have been driving the car for the last 2 days and it has been fine.

I would want to check that a faulty temp sensor isn't inhibiting regenerations.
It may be possible that regen mileage can be shown on iCarsoft??
W/o Star using Torque (on an Android) should be able to show the high DPF temp during a regen. But that takes continual monitoring.

I've kept an eye on the dpf fill state, as this is a feature of the iCarsoft and it has been fine (under 100%) so I suppose that's not an issue.

That's reasonable, but over 500(ish) miles you should see it fill, then to have emptied.
