My father has a w203 c class (facelift, 54 plate but registered 2005) and after looking in the audio 20 suppliment supplied with the manual, it lists an AUX option. If you hold the CDC button on the dash for a few sconds the display reads out "aux input active". The suppliment also talks of a "chinch socket". My question however is; Should there be a 3.5mm jack in the glove box or is it something that can be retro fitted? Possibly with one of these http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Mercedes-...P3-adapter-Audio-20-30-CT29MC01-/221195562531

Many thanks

If the socket was fitted it should be in the glove box, just on the right hand side

after looking in the glovebox, there isn't a socket or jack port. Am I correct in assuming that the radio is set up to take and ipod or similar device but needs a jack port retro fitting first?

I will have to check to be sure on the Audio 20 but if in the menu it must be there but not fitted, it was an extra when new

I understand from the info gleaned from the forum that there are different flavours of Audio 20, but the Audio 20 as fitted to my car was as the OP's ie no jack socket in the glove box but would show AUX INPT when the CDC was pressed & held. A £20odd cable from Merc sorted the socket in the glove box ..... didn't even need to drill the hole as it was already there but blanked off. ;);)

NB MB had no idea if it would work or not. They were willing to sell me an iPod dock for £hundreds  but I took the gamble for the sake of £20odd
