w203 drop link removal?

How do you remove them the nut just keep turning do I need to break the rubber gator or plastic cover at the end to get a purchase on it?

I thought that you could put 1 spanner on the end of the thread part to hold it

In the end had to use mole grips on the nut and a 6mm (I think) socket on the end of the bolt which had a allen key type shape to it to remove the nut with out turning. Started with the top and then did the bottom.

Had to jack the suspension up then to fit the drop link. On a lighter note the left hand side drop link at the bottom had come out of its socket completely so I hope that solved the problem! Did the drivers side as thought it best to do the pair.
