W203 Heat Direction

Hi,
I have a w203 c220cdi which seems to have a problem with the heat direction. If you set the direction to the windscreen, it works if you turn the know to your feet it sounds like its building all the air into the dash but doesn't come out anywhere, it happens intermittently so you never know if you will have heat at your feet or not..

Can anyone help???

Hi,
Tried resetting procedure but lights kept flashing and the air seems to be changing diretion while doing so. After 5 minutes i ended up moving on to the next bit. No change with the air direction situation.... Any idea?

If it will not re set, then a actuator motor or flap is stuck.

Plugging into STAR will tell you what one

Is STAR only available at mercedes dealers or will the likes of a snap on diagnostic reader/resetter be able to read it?

There are many after market reader, re the snap on one I do not know as there are so many in the range.

It does need one that has a MB dedicated program. Most if not all indies will give you a read out circa £20

I should imagine the snap on one will only do the engine codes and maybe the gearbox, but not the chassis and in car stuff.
