Any tips on how to remove the seat base leather as i want to repair/replace the heat pad?
Have these seats got airbags in them?

Thanks, just forgot to mention it's for a coupe model, so the back seats are a little different

You just disconnect the wiring under the front seat rail, and unscrew the 10mm bolts holding it down,, the rear squab lifts up and out, then remove the backrest screws and lift the backrest up and out.

Keep the key out of ignition the whole time or you will get faults.

Good luck with swapping to the leather, damn hard work - but worth it.
Takes about 1/2 day per seat

Thread resurrection

Does keeping key out the way to do it , it's just a matter of bolts wires if I want to change them

If the ignition is turned on with a seat unplugged/ removed, the SRS warning lamp will need STAR to turn it off

My car has electric seats , but unfortunately they aren't heated , if I got new seats with a heating element in them and proper dash switches could I just retro fit them and not have bother with sensors going off

It is the seat belt sensors, and all seats have these no matter if heated or not. the heated part does not come into it.

So it will trigger sensors then ? It's basically a no go for a swap?

Not at all, your new seat will have seat belt sensors built in, all I am saying is do not turn on the ignition with the yellow plugs (the SRS ) disconnected while changing seats, or if you do the car will need to be plugged into STAR to turn the lamp off.
