Hi guys, when i put my w203 c220 into drive even at idle it wants to take off. You have to hold the footbrake on fairly hard to stop it moving forward. Even on an uphill section the car wants to move. If left it will gain walking pace without the use of the throttle. Whats wrong, any ideas ?
PS its always been like this since ive had it, but it seems to be getting worse.

Or standard. :)

It's meant different things over the years, but its function is the same.

The other letter is sometimes C for Comfort or W for Winter.

My C270CDi (which I always keep in S mode) creeps quite agressively on the flat, but I wouldn't say it does it uphill particularly.

The S is not for sport, it is for summer ?

Thats a question, not an answer !

On mine its S for Standard and W for winter, which misses out first gear once it is warmed up. Funny thing is older Mercs missed out first gear for gentle starts all the time!
