hi i have a 2000 c200 to which i have fitted a set of slk 6 spoke alloys which are fitted with 225/40/18 tyres on the front and 245/35/18 rears i have come to replace the tyres and i have found the rears to be a stupid price compared to the fronts is there another size i can fit, for example 255/35/18 or similar ?:confused:

Why not i would, the difference is tiny making the side wall increase by 3.5mm, and you will never notice any difference in the ride or speedo

do u think i would have any issues with arch contact as this was my main worry?
the rear offset is et30 and i believe they are 8.5/18

Well the 255 tyre would sit 5mm nearer to the wheel arch,so should not be any problem and you can measure that.

The diameter would increase by 7mm and that is only the difference of the tread depth from new to worn.
