It's probably part of the locking mechanism. Not too many pin switches these days!

Low and behold went to work this morning and as I swung in to my parking place my headlights went off and on twice as I swung in !! Headache with this problem!

Think it needs its codes read, preferably with STAR. Otherwise, you could be throwing money at it and not solving the problem.
