Hi all,
Changed the fuel filter on my 204 C220 CDI a few days ago and once complete, I cycled the ignition a few times to prime the new filter.
Heard the air being squeezed out of the auto bleed valve and car started first time and has been running fine ever since with no fuel leaks etc.
Was having a tinker with something else with the bonnet up and engine cover off yesterday and had to turn the ignition on and I could hear the same hissing noise - air being squeezed out of the bleed valve. Car is still running fine but question is is this normal on every start up or is it sucking air in somewhere? It's not noticeable with the bonnet down so it could have always done this for all I know! Don't want to do any damage to the electric lift pump by letting it continue for too long if there is an issue. Thanks.
